All Ty has been talking about for the last few months has been TRAINS (ever since we went to the Railroad museum). We got a movie from the library that is all about trains. It's called The Alphabet Train. We highly recommend it. It taught him a ton of important train vocabulary, and important knowledge like the difference between a steam train and a diesel train.
We made the mistake of taking the big stroller with us. I had Mike try to lift the open stroller onto the train, but it wasn't wide enough, so we went back to try to fold the stroller up. Then the doors closed. We pushed the button, but the doors didn't open and we missed the train. We went on another train 15 minutes later, but it was SO crowded. We had to stand in the area with the stairwell. Nobody offered Ty their seat so we just stood. Ty was cranky, and just sat on the floor. We actually tried to change trains, and eventually found a seat. I guess there was a sports game going on that made the train crowded.
Ty was really cranky. We were surprised at how bad he was acting. He wouldn't sit on the seat and would only sit on the floor and stare at the ground. Finally, we got him to look at the roller coasters at six flags, and then he was in a better mood.
After that we went to the 16th Street mall and saw a lot of interesting people. It reminded us of Berkeley, California (we both spent time in Oakland on our mission). We decided that we can't handle living in a crowded city like New York city.
After that, we went somewhere even MORE crowded - the Greek festival. It was so hard to move, especially with a stroller. Mike was in a bad mood because he just wanted to get something to drink and just get out. It was hard to find anything to drink besides beer. We're glad that we're members of our church, where they have water fountains right as you come in.
Our stake fair is much better. It is free and better, and people are friendly, especially if you are new.

That is one thing that Erik and I really love about Denver...believe it or not it's the public transportation. The light rail is great! It's so fun for the kids too because it's almost like a real train. Sounds like you had fun time minus the large crowds of people.
We love the light rail too! Yes, you have to move pretty fast on it. It doesn't wait around for people that's for sure and I've never had anyone offer a seat to Lily before either, but that's okay because she likes to stand. We always take the light rail when we go to baseball games and it's packed, but we love it. Every time we drive by that light rail station Lily yells, "Look mom, the train." Sounds like you guys had a very fun and crowded day.
